BABAK ESLAHJOU, Principal and Founder, Core Architects
With his partners, Babak Eslahjou founded Core Architects Inc in 1996. Almost immediately, Core was recognized as one of Toronto’s leaders in innovative residential developments. The firm understands and interprets the business objectives of developers in their buildings while reflecting a thorough understanding of urban living requirements.
Babak is a specialist in urban residential design and has been instrumental in reshaping Toronto’s downtown core designing 18 residential condominiums in the King/Bathurst district alone. Through a career that spans twenty years, he is familiar with most of the communities that comprise the GTA.
After gaining considerable experience working outside Canadian borders, Dubai’s Emaar Properties enlisted Core as a prime consultant entrusting them with site coordination of the 100 million square foot Dubai Marina and the design of a series of residential and commercial communities.
Babak has been involved in educating young people on the importance of architecture and design and has spoken at many institutions including Harvard University’s School of Design; the Ontario College of Art and Design and most recently at “Explore Design” a conference and trade show aimed at educating high school students in the merits of the design industry.
