Aaron Draplin: Say it like it is.

Aaron Draplin
Maker, Draplin Design Co.

You gotta love the Draplin Design Company. They tell it like it is. In their own words:
We try to keep it pretty simple: “Work hard. Do good work. For good people.”

Luckily, all the folks who’ve trusted us with their projects have been “good people” in our books. Sure, there’s been a couple chumps along the way, but for the most part, we’ve been lucky enough to work for interesting, creative, progressive people who we consider close friends.

Located in the mighty Pacific Northwest, the Draplin Design Co. proudly rolls up its sleeves on a number of projects related to the Print, Identity, Web Development, Illustration and Gocco Muscle categories. We make stuff for Coal Headwear, Union Binding Co., Richmond Fontaine, Field Notes, Esquire, Nike, Wired, Timberline, Chunklet, Incase, Giro, Cobra Dogs, Burton Snowboards, Hughes Entertainment, Chuck Prophet and even the Obama Administration, if you can believe that. We pride ourselves on a high level of craftsmanship and quality that keeps us up late into the wet Portland night.

We look forward to what Aaron has to say at Y-16.

Holiday Greetings from Lab Partners.

Published by amccoll / December 15, 2010 / Speakers

The Y Conference is excited to feature design and illustration duo Lab Partners in our lineup of speakers.

Lab Partners showcases the duo talents of  Sarah Labieniec and Ryan Meis. They originally met in art school before making the trek out to San Francisco to set up shop. Inspired by nature, travel, and their animal companions, they work together as a means to share and explore what they love.

Prior to founding and working on Lab Partners as a full time gig, Sarah worked as an illustrator at San Francisco based stationer Hello!Lucky and at design studio Tomorrow Partners. Ryan has worked as a senior designer at Hatch Design in San Francisco and is currently an art director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.

They’ve had the pleasure of working with clients such as Penguin Books, Wired Magazine, NPR, Monocle Magazine, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Superfad, and the NYTimes. You may have even seen their work featured in industry giants like Print Magazine, HOW and Design*Sponge.
